The Plug Swivel Adaptor™ is designed for mining & industrial applications where a high voltage Cable Plug connects to a Coupler which is attached to an electrical enclosure.
High voltage cables in recent years have become larger with the use of 185mmsq or 240mmsq conductor size in XLPE type cables. This has resulted in heavy stiff cables which are difficult to rotate to align the cable plug with the equipment attached coupler.
The Plug Swivel Adaptor (PSA) allows the Coupler normally mounted to the equipment, to be rotated to align the Coupler to the orientation of the Cable Plug.
Use of the PSA provides three major improvements when connecting HV cables to equipment.
- Reduction of strain injury exposure from repeated lifting and twisting to align a plug with the coupler.
- Elimination of damage to the cable plug's internal cable conductor connections with its connecting sockets - generally caused by the of twisting of the loose bound XLPE HV cable & plug to align with the coupler.
- Fast easy cable plug connections eliminating cable rework and lost time resulting on faster connections and early start of production.
IP56 Certified by an Austest Labratories + Performance and Reliability tested to 2000 rotations approximating >12 years of service.
